Ruth Jones Holman, 94, of Palm City, FL, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2024, at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, Florida.
Ruth was born in Ludlow, Kentucky on February 1, 1930, to Everett M. Jones, Sr. and Eunice A. (Smith) Jones. She was preceded in death by her two older brothers, Everett M. Jones, Jr. (8/10/1995) and Ronald B. Jones (1/26/2023).
Ruth was always grateful for her hometown of Ludlow, and she was proud of being from Kentucky! Ruth married Donald G. Holman on November 28, 1953, and they lived in Cincinnati. After Don was drafted into the U.S. Army, Ruth and Don lived in Atlanta, Georgia, and Anchorage, Alaska.
Moving back to Cincinnati after Don’s military service, Ruth and Don settled in Cincinnati and eventually retired to Palm City, Florida.
Ruth was actively involved in the churches she attended, including serving as a deacon and member of various Bible studies. Later she was an active member of Christian Women’s Clubs (Stonecroft Ministries), including serving as a past president and an area representative. She was an active participant of Christ Fellowship in Stuart, Florida where she especially enjoyed serving as a greeter!
In addition to her parents and brothers, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald (5/28/1998). She is survived by her children, Dr. Glen (Kim) Holman (Waynesboro, Virginia) and Donald M. Holman (Palm City, Florida). She is also survived by three grandchildren, Liz (Buddy) Willis, Dr. Benjamin (Georgia) Holman, and Kristen Holman, and two great-grandchildren, Calum and Micah Willis.
A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky.
