Ludlow, KY

Richard Lynn Stanger, 71, of Ludlow, KY passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at his residence.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and a spirit cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

For more than 26 dedicated years, Richard served as an Industrial Electrician with SENCO in Newtown, OH, and most recently with Zumbiel of Hebron, KY. His craftsmanship and diligence were evident in every task he undertook, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. Richard approached his career with a work ethic that was as vibrant as his love for life, pouring dedication into both his profession and the people he loved.

He was a loving husband to Mary Lou (Forlenza) Stanger, sharing 40 years together filled with laughter, support, and loyal companionship. As a father, Richard took pride in his children, Joseph Stanger of Gilbert, AZ, and Angelina (Stanger) Lopez of Ludlow, KY, and always supported them in pursuit of their dreams with the same determination he had in his own life. He was also a proud grandfather to Catalina Lopez (10) and Callie Stanger (4).

In addition to his immediate family, Richard is survived by his brothers Kenneth Stanger of Oceanside, CA, and Raymond Stanger of West Chester, OH, as well as his sister, Katherine (Stanger) Steuer of Mt. Carmel, OH. He treasured his relationships with his family deeply and often spoke of the countless adventures and joyful moments shared with his many nieces and nephews.

Richard found true happiness in the great outdoors, whether it was camping under the stars or backpacking through the Appalachian Mountains. He had a profound love for music and could often be found at concerts or listening to tunes on his porch. His zest for life was evident to all who encountered him; his laughter was contagious, and his generous spirit warmed the hearts of those around him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, the late Richard A. and Callie M. (Farmer) Stanger, who instilled in him the values of kindness and hard work. Richard's memory will forever live on in the stories told by his family, the friendships he nurtured, and the love he shared so freely.
