Richard “Dick” Carl Burg, 78, of Covington, Kentucky, passed away on April 17, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Dick was born on January 20, 1948, to John and Louise (Krombach) Burg. He built a life centered around family, quiet strength, and a deep commitment to those he loved.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Theresa Burg (née Valent), his sons, Steven Burg (Gina) and Jeffrey Burg (Andrea) , and his brother, Tom Burg (Pat). Dick was a proud grandfather to Brady (Brittany), Alexis (Jack), Tyler, Alyssa, Luke, Alexandra, and Max, and a great-grandfather to Creed. His family was the center of his world, and he took great joy in watching it grow across generations.

A man of few words, Dick showed his love through his actions, providing for his family and always being a steady, reliable presence. He cherished his role as a grandfather and found great pride and happiness in his grandchildren.

Dick retired from Topicz, Inc. in 2010, where he served as an Information Technology Manager for 20 years. He was respected for his dedication and steady work ethic throughout his career.

Dick had a lifelong passion for off-roading and adventure. Over the years, he owned several Jeeps and led many trails through Moab, Utah, and the mountains of Colorado. He was a dedicated member of the IOK Jeep Four Wheelers Club for over 40 years, where he served on the board and in various leadership roles, forming lasting friendships along the way.

Dick will be remembered for his dedication to his family, and the many memories created both at home and out on the trails.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Louise Burg.

Per Dick’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service or celebration of life. In true reflection of his adventurous spirit, he requested that his sons take his remains off-road … destination to be determined.
