Phillip Everett Hicks, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and proud USMC veteran, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025. He was born on September 3, 1947, to his late parents, Edward and Betty Jane Hicks.
A man of courage and dedication, Phillip proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and fought in the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart for his service and sacrifice. Following his military career, he dedicated himself to a long and successful career with the United States Postal Service, from which he eventually retired.
Phillip was a man who knew how to enjoy life's simple pleasures. He was an avid outdoorsman, finding peace and excitement in hunting and fishing. He had a lifelong passion for riding motorcycles and a deep appreciation for firearms.
Above all, Phillip cherished the time spent with his beloved family. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Terry Hicks. Their enduring love and commitment were an inspiration to all who knew them.
Phillip’s memory will be carried on by his devoted daughter, Shelly Stone, and her husband, Timothy. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Stanley Stone (Cassie) and Tamara Conrad (Zac), and a joyful great-grandfather to Kayson and Zayne.
He also leaves behind his five wonderful sisters: Sallie (Charles) Heitsman of Anderson, OH; Debbie Lynn of Glencoe, KY; Kathy Waters of Taylor Mill, KY; Sandi (Tom) Scott of Maryland; and Julie Stacks of Florence, KY, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Betty Jane Hicks, and his loving Bonus Mom Doretta Hicks.
