Listen to Obituary

Peggy Ann Schmitt, née Pohlman, 81, of Manchester, TN, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026, in her home leaving behind a legacy filled with warmth, love, and countless cherished memories.

From her early days, Peggy brought joy into the lives of those around her. Her dedication to nurturing her family was evident in every part of her life. As a homemaker, Peggy created a haven of comfort and laughter, a place her loved ones could always return to, no matter what the circumstances. She was particularly devoted to her children, and her twin daughters were the joy of her heart. Peggy’s commitment to making every moment special for them was unparalleled; she went above and beyond, ensuring that their lives were woven with unforgettable memories and unconditional love.

Peggy’s zest for life was expressed in her many passions. She was a talented chef whose home often became the center of lively gatherings, and her friends and family delighted in sharing meals and creating traditions around her kitchen table. She had a flair for artistry, pouring her heart into pottery and painting, with each piece reflecting her thoughtfulness and creativity. Whether molding clay or watching colors blend on a canvas, Peggy found beauty in bringing ideas to life.

A true fan at heart, Peggy’s enthusiasm for NASCAR was infectious. The thrill of a race could light up her face, and she relished the excitement sometimes even cheering from the stands, lost in the energy of the crowd. Hosting parties was another way she expressed her generosity, inviting laughter and togetherness into her home with open arms.

Peggy’s passing is deeply felt by her beloved husband of 25 years, Jim Wooldridge; her devoted children, Casey Kendall, Kelly Jobe, Wes (Tammy) Wooldridge, and Trenna Wooldridge; sisters, Diane Brown and Anita (Al) Rust and granddaughter, Shannon Kniffen.
