Neta Jean Highhouse

Neta Jean Highhouse, née Feltner, 92, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, August 15, 2026. Born on December 11, 1933, in Hazard, Kentucky, Neta's life was filled with love, laughter, and meaningful connections.

Throughout her life, Neta found great joy in her family, she is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Gary) Margolen of Petersburg, KY and Libby Baker of Sharonville, OH, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, each holding close the memory of Neta’s unwavering warmth and support.

Neta was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Feltner and Louetta Feltner; husband, Clifford Highhouse; grandson, Chris Girard; 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Her professional journey took her to Standard Publishing, where she contributed her diligent efforts in the mail room. Neta approached her work—and indeed all pursuits—with dedication and a gentle, steady spirit.

Beyond her professional life, Neta possessed an exuberant love of learning and exploration. She delighted in reading, and spent countless hours immersed in crossword and jigsaw puzzles, always relishing the challenge. Watching golf and the Cincinnati Reds brought her joy, and she rarely missed an opportunity to tune in from the comfort of home. She was a true lover of travel; Neta and Clifford would often pack up their camper and set out in whichever direction their hearts led them, with a special fondness for the beauty of Gatlinburg.

Neta was also known among those close to her as an enthusiastic “movie person,” always appreciating the way film could transport and inspire.

Those who knew Neta will remember her for her zest for life’s simple pleasures and her devotion to family. Her kindness, wit, and joyful character leave an enduring mark on all whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to the hour of Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m all at the Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm St, Ludlow, KY 41016. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3227 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, KY 41018.

Neta Jean Highhouse’s legacy lives on in her loved ones and in the many hearts she touched throughout her lifetime. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered always.
