Nanette Petroze Stacy, 60, of Villa Hills, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on June 25, 2025, at Rosedale Green in Covington, Kentucky. Nanette was a beacon of positivity and resilience, demonstrating an unwavering spirit throughout her life, even during the years she faced the challenges of being a paraplegic. Her smile would light up any room, and her optimistic outlook inspired everyone around her.
Nanette's love for her family was palpable. She cherished her nieces and nephews deeply, creating countless joyful memories that they will carry with them through their lives. Known for her warm hospitality, she famously hosted Halloween parties, Kentucky Derby parties, and delightful Easter egg hunts, all events where laughter and joy were abundant.
Her interests were varied, encompassing a love for boating adventures with her husband, Don, and family trips to Lake Cumberland. She also cherished quiet moments filled with games, enjoying endless rounds of Hi Ho Cheerio, Sorry, and Scrabble. Nanette took great joy in passing on her playful spirit to her nieces and nephews, teaching them how to cheat at cards and puzzles with a mischievous twinkle in her eye. She loved dinners and lunches with her life long friends from both grade school and high school who will also miss her dearly.
She is survived by her brothers Marty Petroze, Pete (Paula) Petroze, and Don (Debbie) Petroze; her sisters Beth (Brad) Smith, Laura (Luke) Hehman, and Janet Fowler; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and lifelong friends who will remember her fondly.
Nanette joins her loving husband, Don Stacy, who predeceased her in 2023, as well as her parents, Don Petroze (2004) and Audrey Petroze (2012), and sister-in-law Linda Petroze (2025). Their legacy of love and cherished memories continues to shape those who remain.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm St, Ludlow, KY 41016. Friends and family are welcome to come together to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of many.
Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell at the convenience of the family.
