Listen to Obituary

Linda Jean Exeler, 76, of  West Covington, KY, passed away peacefully at Villa Springs of Erlanger, surrounded by her family. She will be remembered for her unforgettable personality, quick wit, generous heart, and the countless lives she touched.

Linda dedicated 37 years of her career to serving others as a waitress at Colonial Cottage, where her hard work and exceptional personality made her a local favorite. Her talent for making people feel welcome and cared for was so remarkable that Counter Culture, a book highlighting top waitresses, featured her. Linda was more than a waitress; people remembered her long after they left her table. Her dedication, work ethic, and natural ability to connect with others made her truly one of a kind.

Linda had a personality that people couldn't help but fall in love with. She never sugarcoated things and always told it like it was, but beneath her straightforward nature was a heart of gold. If someone needed her, Linda would do anything she could to help. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for making people laugh. Her laughter, honesty, and warm spirit could brighten any room, and she was rarely, if ever, in a bad mood. Whether she was serving customers, spending time with family, or simply sharing a conversation, Linda had a way of making everyone feel special.

Above all else, Linda's greatest joy was her family, especially her daughter, Christy. Linda often told her she had asked the Lord for one baby girl, and He had given her the very best. Those words reflected the depth of Linda's unconditional love and her gratitude for the gift of motherhood. Her love for Christy was immeasurable, and being her mother was one of the greatest blessings of her life.

Linda also cherished her grandchildren, Eric, Josh, Taylor, Trent, and Catarina who brought her immense pride and happiness. Her love extended to her seven great-grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as Gi Gi Linda. These special names and relationships beautifully reflected the generations of love she leaves behind.

Linda's legacy is one of hard work, laughter, unconditional love, and an unforgettable spirit. She had a way of making people feel like old friends, and her presence brought joy to those fortunate enough to know her. While she will be deeply missed, the stories, laughter, and love she shared will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Wilma Jean Lindeman, and brothers, Danny and Bill Lindeman.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Christy (Scott) Doellman; her brothers, Bobby (Jill) Lindeman, Mike (Sharon) Lindeman, and Mark Lindeman; her sisters, Rita Allender, Maureen Bell, and Alice (Dwayne) Allen;  Her grandchildren,  Eric Dickman, Josh (Megan) Dickman, Taylor (Kayla) Dickman, Trent (Courtney) Doellman; Catarina (Austin) Scott,  and seven great-grandchildren.
