John Conway, 74, of Villa Hills, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Born on September 22, 1951, John lived a life defined by service, kindness, faith, and unwavering dedication to the people around him. A devoted Catholic, he grounded his life in compassion, humility, and community.
John proudly served his country in the United States Army before beginning a long and meaningful career as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. His commitment to serving others extended well beyond his career—he was a former volunteer fireman with the Ludlow Fire Department and an active member of the VETS, where he once served as president. John consistently placed others before himself.
A true sports enthusiast, John loved cheering for his Cincinnati Bengals and Reds. He also cherished his afternoons at Lagoon Saloon with the company of close friends. A passionate golfer, he proudly celebrated a hole-in-one in 2021—one of his favorite stories to tell.
John is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Lee (Hartman) Conway, and his daughters, Lisa (Rick) Weaver of Defiance, Ohio, and Stephanie Garrison of Villa Hills. He was the proud grandfather of Tyler, Mallory, Brayden, Brady, and Sydney, and great-grandfather to Penelope. John is also survived by his siblings Ralph (Ruth) Conway of Erlanger; Janice (late Joe) Gier of Dayton; Karen (Bo) Mason of Edgewood; and Mary (Tom) Geimeier of Burlington. He was deeply loved as a cherished member of the Hartman family for 52 years, a bond that brought him great joy and pride. All who knew him will forever remember his generosity, humor, and the warmth he brought into every room.
