Listen to Obituary

James “Scott” Graue, 62, of Crescent Springs, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 5, 2026, at his residence. He was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence brought love and humor to those around him.

Scott was born in Kingsville, TX but lived the majority of his life in Northern Kentucky. In recent years he was known for being a reliable and skilled CDL truck driver and specialized in transporting hazardous material within Kentucky. He took great pride in his work and was someone others could always count on.

A proud Newport Catholic High School alumnus, Scott excelled on the basketball team. He attended Thomas More College studying art. He was a very talented artist in both high school and college.

Scott also deeply appreciated film. Some of his favorite memories were with his son, Charlie, going to movies together and then spending time afterward critiquing and discussing what they saw. Their shared love of film gave them a special connection and created many cherished memories. Their most recent movie outing centered around a Spielberg film, continuing a tradition that meant so much to both of them.

Above all, Scott loved his family. He was a wonderful father and devoted uncle with a special way of connecting with children. His nieces and nephews enjoyed his attention, humor, and the fun he brought to family gatherings. He will be remembered for making the people around him feel loved and appreciated.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, William A. Graue, and his nephew, Spencer Berry.

He is survived by his son, Charlie Becca; his mother, Suzanne Kemper; his brother, Truitt (Chris) Graue; his sister, Laura (Luis Perez) Spencer; his nephew, Quinn Spencer; and his nieces, Catherine and Caroline Graue.

Scott’s unexpected passing leaves a profound loss for his family and all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his dependability, his love of family, and the many memories he created with those he loved.
