George Sherman Turner, a lifelong resident of Ludlow and beloved member of the community, passed away on December 1, 2025, at the age of 68. A devoted fan of the UK Wildcats and Cincinnati Bengals, he could talk sports with anyone at any time. His knowledge of local athletics and Wildcat history was nothing short of encyclopedic. If you needed to know a stat, he had the answer. His conversations were filled with stories, stats, and the most memorable sports moments. He spent many years as a vendor in the Cincinnati area, where he became a familiar face and friend to countless people. His daily routines and rides on the Tank bus allowed him to connect with the community he loved, and he carried those relationships with him. Above all, he was the world’s best uncle, always willing to go along for the ride with his family.
He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his sisters, Beth Stephenson (Gary Smith), Katie Egbert (Matt Egbert); and his uncle, Mike Aytes(Gayle Aytes), as well as his nephew, Jordan Stephenson (Lindsey Dreyer), and niece, Grace Egbert, along with many friends, neighbors, and loved ones who will hold him forever in their hearts.
He is preceded in death by his late parents, George and Mimi Sue Turner.
