David Lee Whitley

David L. "Dave"  Whitley, 91, of Ft. Wright, KY passed away at his residence surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 21, 2024.   Dave served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He retired from the United States Postal Service after 30 years as a mechanic. He, also, retired from Boone County Schools after 17 years as a bus driver.   

He was a country boy at heart but wound up in the city where he raised his family.He was generous with his time regardless of who needed help. Dave was loved by everyone who knew him and he will be deeply missed.  

Dave is preceded in death by his brother Daniel Whitley (11/26/2012).

Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Doris Whitley; children, Dave (Audrey) Whitley of Burlington, Kim (Mike) Borgman of Union, Daniel Whitley of Ft. Wright; dear friend, like a daughter, Jeanne Booher of Florence; sisters, Linda Ryan of Cincinnati and Janet McClanahan of Florida; sister-in-law, Paula Guzman (John) of Ludlow; grandchildren, Kyle Borgman, Adam Borgman and Katie Cummings; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, January 29, 2024 from 10:30 AM to the hour of service at 12:30 PM.

Interment in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill, KY
