Barbara Devlin

Barbara Devlin, 84, born in Boston and living in Ft. Wright, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Christ Hospital. She was a member of St. Agnes Church in Park Hills and was active in the Knights of Columbus in Latonia. Barbara truly had a servant’s heart.  She was a member of the Kentucky Extension Homemakers for over 35 years where she took active leadership roles. She was the President and Vice-President of the Kenton County Homemakers Organization.  Barbara was the Northern Kentucky Area Homemaker Food and Nutrition Chair.  She was a Master Food Volunteer for the University of Kentucky Master Food Volunteer Program helping with classes and programs.  Barbara volunteered for Mommy & Me, in the Garden and Kitchen Program, for the last 6 years where she was named Outstanding Extension Volunteer of the Year for Family and Consumer Sciences for the Campbell County Cooperative Extension Service for 2015.  She stayed active and 6 years ago climbed all the way to the top of Natural Bridge.  Barbara was also the ‘Queen of Games’ playing Mahjong and Dominos with family and friends.  She made scarfs for the homeless and was everyone’s “Nana” because everyone was family to her.   Her last thoughts were thinking about the things that she wanted to do and the things she wanted to share.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Devlin (1982).

Survivors include her daughters, Darlene (Ray) Kubik of Cincinnati, Jacqueline (John) Kerber of Milford; brother, Frank Eagan of Denver; sister, Kathy Burke of Manchester, NH; grandchildren, Christopher (Shea), Taylor, R.J., Carmen, Sean, Bryan, Caroline and Jacob; great grandchildren, Rowa, Cedar and Z.J.

Visitation is on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 2:00 PM to the hour of Memorial Catholic Blessing at 4:00 PM all in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.
