Barbara Chestnut

Barbara Sue Chestnut, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, at the age of 77 at Rosedale Green in Latonia, Kentucky. She was surrounded by her loving family in her final moments, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, endurance, strength, and grace.

Born on October 16, 1948, in New Albany, Indiana, Barbara grew up with a deep appreciation for family, community, and faith. She devoted her life to nurturing those around her, offering comfort, wisdom, and unwavering support to everyone she met.

Barbara and Gary R. Chestnut owned and operated Chestnut’s Fence Company in Independence, Kentucky for over 50 years. She was known and admired for her dedication, work ethic, and warm personality. Beyond her professional life, she was known for her passion for music, hosting parties, traveling, and her ability to make any house feel like a home.

She is survived by her husband: Gary R. Chestnut; 3 children: Gary I. Chestnut, Randy (Rachel) Chestnut, and Danielle (Jeremy) Barth; her grandchildren: Alexa Chestnut, Chelsea (Ross) Leppert, Tristen (Lizzie) Chestnut, Lacey (Stephen) Maley, Marissa Barth, Wesley Barth, Kylie Chestnut, Joshua Wingham, Kaylon Chestnut, Kambrey Chestnut, Logan Barth; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Gene Pemberton and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved grandchildren, Gary S. Chestnut, Rose Barth; brothers, Dave and Darryl Pemberton and her parents, Blaine and Irene Pemberton.

Barbara’s faith and compassion guided her life. Her life was a testament to the power of love, humility, and resilience.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 10:30AM until the hour of Service at 12:00PM all in Christ's Chapel Assembly of God, 3819 Turfway Rd, Erlanger, KY 41018.

Interment in Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery North, Williamstown, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Barbara’s Memorial Fund made payable to Christ’s Chapel, 3819 Turfway Rd, Erlanger, KY 41018.

Barbara Sue Chestnut touched many hearts during her time on Earth. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
