Benjamin Roberts

Benjamin J. Roberts, 94, of Bromley, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the VA Hospital Hospice in Cincinnati.  He was a retired Railway Mail Clerk from the U.S. Postal Service for which he is in the Smithsonian Institute. Ben served our country in the U.S. Army during WWII.  He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Bromley where he was a past member of the Board of Trustees.  He was a member of the APWU and a Kentucky Colonel.  Ben was Chairman of the Board for Bromley Boy Scout Troop #23.  He loved to camp especially at Natural Bridge, was handy with woodworking and doing repairs and he also loved Skyline and “was as old as White Castle”.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 73 years, Margaret Roberts of Bromley; sons, Gary (Debbie) Roberts of Independence, Ken Roberts of San Francisco, Mark Roberts of Covington; daughters, June Roberts of Covington, Karen (Stephen) Wissel of Cincinnati; sisters, Catherine (Howard) Jelle of Arizona, Mattie Webster of Covington; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Roberts.

Visitation in on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 10:00 AM to the hour of service at 12:00 PM all in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.

Interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger, KY.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Immanuel United Church of Christ, 110 Boone St., Bromley, KY 41016.
