Margaret Weghorn, 97, of Ft. Wright, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022, at Highland Springs in Ft. Thomas. She was a homemaker who dedicated her time as an active volunteer with the VA in Ft. Thomas, where she provided Pet, Music and Speech therapy for the residents as well as organizing all the events and outings. She also volunteered with the Kelly Furnish VFW Post 7099 in Covington. Margaret was a member of St. Agnes Church in Ft. Wright. She had a quick wit and will be missed by her daughters, Barbara Huff (Gary Huff) of Park Hills, Mary S. Riggs of Erlanger, Joan M. Chester (Mark Chester) of Independence, Mary Anne Brown (Chip Brown) of Ft. Thomas, Mary Blanche Farrell (Larry Farrell) of North Bend, OH; son, George Weghorn of Frankfort; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Weghorn; daughter, Emma Weghorn; sons, Joseph F. Weghorn, Jr., and Charles J. Weghorn; grandchildren, Peter and Erich Weghorn.
Mass of Christian Burial is on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 11:30 AM in St. Agnes Church, 1680 Dixie Highway, Ft. Wright.
Interment in St. John’s Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell.
Following the Mass, the family extends an invitation to continue to celebrate Margaret’s life at the Kelly Furnish VFW Post 7099, 1281 Kelly-Furnish St, Covington, KY 41011.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to charity of choice.
