Patricia Furnish

Patricia Ann Furnish, 79, of Ft. Wright, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Madonna Manor in Villa Hills. She was a 1963 graduate of St. Elizabeth School of Nursing and was a nursing supervisor for many years, always a first line patient advocate in her fun & assertive ways!  In the mid-70’s, she was asked to start the St. Elizabeth Home Health program. That type of program was a very new approach in the medical community in those days. Pat developed the program to serve several of northern Kentucky counties with the nurses driving the little white “home health” cars. She even incorporated home hospice in its initial start. Even after her stroke she continued to care for other residents at Madonna Manor. Once a nurse, always a nurse. She was an avid collector of Robert Fabe paintings and she loved to send cards to her loved ones - complete with a $2 bill inside. Pat was a member of St. Joseph Church in Crescent Springs.  Survivors include her son, Jay (Beverly) Furnish of Crescent Springs; sisters, Ruth McManus of Redlands, CA, Peggy Bergey of Cincinnati; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and her beloved dogs.  Visitation is on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 11:00 AM until the hour of a Catholic Blessing at 1:00 PM all in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.  Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ft. Wright. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Foundation, 1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017.
