George Darpel
George W. Darpel, 87, of Erlanger, passed away on Wednesday, December 08, 2021 at Rosedale Green in Covington. George retired, after 32 years, as a Mailman with the U.S. Postal Service. He proudly served our country in the U.S Army. He was a very down to earth, simple man. To know him was to love him. George was an avid sports fan who especially liked the Reds, Bengals and Kentucky Wildcats. More than anything, he loved his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Kathleen Darpel of Erlanger; daughters, Mary Elizabeth “Mary Beth” (Greg) Stoppelwerth of Union, Colleen Marie (Tim) Bernard of Louisville, Michelle Ann Vallandingham of Edgewood; brother, Charlie Darpel of Taylor Mill; sister, Margie Duncan of Florence; grandchildren, David Stoppelwerth, Christina Smith, Patrick and Anna Bernard, Garrett and William Vallandingham, and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Stella Darpel; brothers, Bernie, Louie, Bob, and Larry Darpel; and sisters, Charlotte, Helen and Anna Mae.
Visitation is on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 11:00 AM until the hour of Mass of Christian Burial at 12:05 PM all in Mother of God Church, 119 West 6
