James Andrew “Sheriff James” Ritter, 54, of Ft. Mitchell, formerly of Ludlow, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Providence Pavilion in Covington. He was an honorary sheriff sworn in by Sheriff Korzenborn.  Sheriff James loved dancing, singing and watching TV, especially MASH.  He was a wonderful soul who never met a stranger and loved people, especially if you were young and beautiful.  Sheriff James attended Active Day in Ft. Thomas for eleven years.  He was a great blessing to his family.

Survivors include his sister and caregiver Katie (James) Parrott of Ft. Mitchell, sisters, Connie Dalton of Walton,  Mary Jane Yancey of Pine Knot, KY;

brothers, Larry Ritter of Erlanger, Butch Ritter of Pasadena, TX;

dear friend, Marcella Head of Pine Knot, KY and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Delores Ritter;  brothers, Phillip and Rudy Lucas and sister, Beverley Aubrey.

Visitation is on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 10:00 AM to the hour of service at 11:00 AM all in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Active Day of Ft. Thomas, 90 Alexandria Pike, Suites 4-7, Fort Thomas, KY 41075 or charity of donor’s choice.
