William Koenig
William “Bill” E. Koenig, 89, of Covington, passed away on Tuesday, August 04, 2015 at Rosedale Green in Covington. He retired as the 2
nd
Vice President in the Real Estate Division of Western Southern Life. Bill served our country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of St. Anthony Church in Covington. He taught Corporate and Investment Real Estate at UC, Xavier and NKU. Bill was recognized as a ‘Hometown Hero’ by the Cincinnati Enquirer in 1997 for his volunteer work at St. Charles Nursing Home where he was known as “Mr Fix It”.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Koenig (2003).
Survivors include his sons, Michael (Mary) Koenig of Villa Hills, Mark (Marty) Koenig of Athens, GA; brother, Robert “Bob” (Millie) Koenig of White Oak, OH; sisters, Rita (Lou) Chalfant of Covington, Betty Jane Boles of Indianapolis, IN; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 9:00 AM to the hour of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM all in St. Anthony Church, 485 Grand Ave, Taylor Mill, KY 41015.
Interment in Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright, KY.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The Salvation Army of NKY, 806 Scott Street, Covington, KY 41011 or The Alzheimer's Association, 644 Linn Street, Suite 1026, Cincinnati, OH 45203.
