Beulah Linn

 

 

Beulah Linn, 87, of Bromley, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2013 at Rosedale Green in Latonia.  She was a retired Bookkeeper/Receptionist for O’Hara, Ruberg, Taylor, Sloan and Sergent Law Firm. Beulah was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School.  She was also a member of the Bromley PTA. 

 

Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, J. T. “Kelly” Linn (2011); brother, Carl Clifford; sisters, Billy Watson and Margaret “Dutch” Marshall. 

 

Survivors include her son, Gary Linn of Ludlow; daughter Debbie Jester of Ft.Mitchell; sisters, Jean Hutchinson and Marie Clifford both of Paris, KY; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Calvin Reinhart

 

 

Calvin Earl Reinhart, 82, of Bromley, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood.  He was in the Maintenance Department of the General Electric Company.  Calvin was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Bromley and a member of Bromley Vets.

 

He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

 

Calvin is survived by his sons, Paul Reinhart of HollySprings, NC; David Reinhart of Bromley, KY and 4 grandchildren.

 

Calvin is preceded in death by his wife, Alyene Reinhart (2007).

Darell Perkins

 

 

Darell "Mark" Perkins, 52, of West Covington, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013, at his residence. He was a self-employed Website Designer.

 

Mark was a member of Central Church of the Nazarene. He loved fishing, hunting, and especially loved his family.

 

Survivors include his sons, Matthew Charles Perkins of Dayton, KY, Marcus Anthony Perkins of Columbus, OH; mother, Violet (Tom) Solomon of Erlanger, KY; brother Charles William (Marilyn) Perkins of Spokane, WA; sisters, Lois Louise (Don) Hadsell of Sarasota, FL, Sylvia Annette (Clint) Breier of Morrow, OH; grandchildren, Cougar Jameson Perkins and Ayla Rain Perkins.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Perkins, Jr.

John "Jack" Buechel

 

 

John “Jack” C. Buechel, 66, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at his home in Cincinnati, OH. Jack attended Covington Catholic High School, loved following politics and tinkering with items that needed repair. 

Jack is survived by his sons, John Buechel Jr. of Cincinnati, OH; Anthony Sumner of Dayton, KY; daughter, Emma Jane Sward of Cincinnati, OH; mother, Juanita Rose Buechel of Covington; brother, Thomas Buechel of Newport; sisters, Emma Grayson of Erlanger, Alice Brendel of Covington and 7 grandchildren.

 

Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Buechel (2010); daughter, Doris Jean Ball (2013); brother, Mark Buechel (1977) and father, Walter Thomas Buechel (1997).

Raymond "Todd" Miley

 

 

 

 

Raymond "Todd" Miley, 50, of Ludlow, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. He was a warehouse manager for Clossons Fine Furniture. Todd was a skilled dartist winning many competitions and awards. He was also an avid baseball fan and diehard Kentucky Wildcats Fan.

 

Todd is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Bonnie Miley; brothers, Joe Miley (1977) and Terry Miley (2011).

 

Todd is survived by Carol Wagner of Ludlow; daughter, Andrea Evans of Ft. Mitchell; siblings, Janet (Aaron) Moore of Florence, Jayne (Mike) Stoeckle of Ft. Mitchell, Lynda White of Florence, Stephen (Sandra) Miley of Ludlow, David Miley of Orlando, FL, Robert (Jan) Miley of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, William and Noah Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

Services and Interment were held at Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017.

 Andrea Nicole Leach

 

 

Andrea Nicole "Nikki" Leach, 35, of Ludlow, passed away at her residence on Saturday, April 27, 2013. Nikki was a manufacturing quality inspector for Mubea. She was a devoted mother who loved to have fun, sing and listen to music. Nikki was fascinated with fashion accessories. She was an avid Reds and Bengals fan.

 

Nikki was preceded in death by her father, Robin Leach (1987)

 

She is survived by her daughters; Mia Brynn Colston and Aubrey Vivian Colston; mother, April "Kitty" Shields (Dave Todd) of Amelia, OH; brother, Andrew Leach of Ludlow; sisters, Leanne Leach of Ludlow, Amanda Leach of Ludlow, Stephanie Leach of Ludlow; 15 nieces and nephews; 5 great-nieces and nephews; friend, Greg Colston of Ft. Thomas.

 Robert Lee "Bob" Collins

 

Robert Lee “Bob” Collins, 81, of Ludlow, passed away at his home on Monday, April 22, 2013.  Bob was a master glazier and window & door installer for almost 50 years, working at Hagedorn’s Paint & Glass and Jack’s Glass.  He worked on many high-end mirror and glass projects including The Lookout House and The Beverly Hills Supper Club.  He also did major projects for Cincinnati Bengals Ken Anderson and Max Montoya.  He was owner of Bob and Jean’s Carryout and partner in LBJ Auto Body.  Bob was a master handyman and a genuine Mr. Fix-It.  He enjoyed restoring and collecting classic automobiles and trucks and loved going to auto swap meets and car shows. 

 

Bob leaves his loving wife of 61 years, Jean Collins of Ludlow; sons Fred (Rhonda) Collins of Ludlow and Tom (Tracy) Collins of Morningview; granddaughters, Kristy Collins and Tomi Lee Collins; his canine companion Katie and loving cat Oliver; brothers, Hugh B (June) Collins of Seymour, TN and Jay Roy (Rita) Collins of Maryville, TN; sister, Agnes (Sam) Marshall of Louisville, KY, along with many nieces and nephews. 

 

Bob is preceded in death by his older sister Imogene Turpin.

 F. Patrick Collins

 

Francis Patrick Collins, 90, of Crestview Hills, Kentucky, died on Saturday April 20, 2013 at home. Born in Canton, Ohio, “Pat” was a 1940 graduate of St. John’s High School (now Central Catholic High School), Canton, Ohio, and graduated from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, with a BSJ (Journalism) in 1950.  He was a charter member of Delta Pi Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity at OhioUniversity.  He was a parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Edgewood, Kentucky.  A lifelong patriot, Mr. Collins served our country over five decades.  He was a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army Air Corps, serving between 1942 and 1946 as a P-38 pilot in World War II.  He was in the US Air Force Reserve before going on inactive duty in 1955.  He reentered the US Army National Guard in the 1970’s, working in the Kentucky National Guard Public Affairs detachment, and retired in 1984 as a Major, US Army.  In his professional career, Mr. Collins was Assistant Director, Off-Campus Relations for Ohio University from 1950 to 1955; Agent, Assistant Manager and Branch Manager, New York Life Insurance Company from 1955 to 1979 in Columbus, Cincinnati and Canton, OH and Lexington, KY; Agency Manager, Union Central Life Insurance Company from 1979 to 1981 in Columbus; and Owner, Pat Collins Insurance Agency, then Agent, Motorists Insurance from 1981 to 1995 in Columbus.  He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, P-38 National Association, National Director of the Ohio University Alumni Association, Life Loyal Sigma Chi, Knights of Columbus, Serra International, Kiwanis International, Sigma Delta Chi, General Agents and Managers Association, Columbus (OH) Life Underwriters Association, Lexington (KY) Life Underwriters Association, American College of Chartered Life Underwriters (CLU), and numerous other professional and community organizations. 

 

Mr. Collins was the son of the late William Andrew Collins and the late Anna Mary Collins (nee Meyer).  William was an Engineer with the Pennsylvania Railroad in Canton, Ohio.  He was preceded in death by his spouse of more than 53 years, Mary Lou Collins (nee Pash), and siblings Mildred White, William Herman “Bill” Collins, and Raymond Anthony “Tony” Collins. 

 

Mr. Collins is survived by his sister, Theresa Kerrigan, his daughter Christine Holt and her husband Robert, of Florence, Kentucky; his son Timothy and his spouse Thomas Wolff, of New York, New York; and his son Kevin and his wife Jocelyn, of Lebanon, Ohio.  Mr. Collins is also survived by four grandchildren, Megan Holt and Kacey Holt, of Florence, Kentucky; and Lillian (Lilly) Collins and Cameron Collins, of Lebanon, Ohio.

 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 beginning at

 

Burial will be at St. John’sCatholicCemetery in Canton, Ohio at a future date.

 Emma Jean Bienick

 

 

My grandma died on Friday, April 12, 2013 at her home. Her name was Emma Jean Bienick and she was 83 years old.  She was a homemaker dedicated to her family.She was a precinct leader for the Democratic party in ForestPark, a Girl Scout leader and an active P.T.A member. 

 

Surviving relatives include my grandpa,Stanley Bienick, and my aunt, Thomasina Bienick, of Forest Park,OH; also, my mom, her youngest daughter, Patty Tobias and my sister and I, Katya and Bianca DeValeria. My grandma is survived by fifteen siblings: Leah Ryan, Ruby Zackerdonski, Dwight McComas, Gary McComas, Edna Mae Ritchie, Samuel McComas, Randall McComas, Emily Roper, Beuford McComas, Lonnie McComas, Murrell McComas, Albert McComas, Sarah Aubrey, Faye Polanco and Vickie Short.

Gale Elkins

 

Gale Elkins, 88, of Villa Hills, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at his daughter’s residence in Lebanon, OH. He was a Baker for Dolly Madison Bakery in Cincinnati.

 

Gale is survived by his son, Larry Elkins of Harrison, OH; daughters, Donna Brinck of Lebanon, OH; grandchildren, Larry Elkins Jr., Brigott Dawn, Erica Lambrinides, and Deboroh French; 8 great grandchildren.

John T. Sefakis

 

 

John T. Sefakis, 71, of Ludlow, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Veterans Hospital in Cincinnati. He served in the United States Navy. He was the owner of J & M Industrial Tool Grinding Company. John was devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also a member of Moose Lodge in Taylor Mill and Unity Lodge 748-FNAM of Ludlow.

 

John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Agnes Sefakis; sons; Chris Sefakis of Franklin, OH and Tommy (Trish) Sefakis of Mariemont, OH; daughter, Connie (Dan) Levy of Dayton, KY; brother, Alan (Debbie) Sefakis of Erlanger; grandchildren, Ashley Graham and Harrison Thomas Sefakis; great-grandchildren, Trevor Graham and Peyton Graham.

Richard L. "Mother" Hartman

 

Richard L. "Mother" Hartman, 89, of Ludlow, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.  He was a retired electrician with IBEW Local 212. Richard was a member of Mother of God Church in Covington, a member of Kelly Furnish VFW Post 7099, member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 212, past President of Fraternal Order of Eagles #280, and former member of Ludlow Drum and Bugle Corp.

 

Survivors include his sons, Richard (Kathy) Hartman of Southgate, Daniel (Danell) Hartman of Burlington, Lawrence (Paula) Hartman of Ludlow, John (Debbie) Hartman of Florence; daughters, Diane Hartman of Ludlow, Mary Lee (John) Conway of Villa Hills, Deborah (Ken Williams) Deaton of Covington, Ruth Ellen Hartman of Ludlow, Patricia Hartman of Ludlow, Donna Hartman of Ludlow; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

 

Richard is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Emma Hartman (11-13-1997).

Charles L. Mahorney

 

Charles L. Mahorney, 94, of Erlanger, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the BaptistConvalescentCenter in Newport.  He served in the United States Navy during World War II.  Charles was devoted to his family and was an avid golfer. 

 

 He was preceded in death by his loving wife Lucille V. Mahorney (2-22-2002).

Robert L. "Pete" Cahill

 

 

Robert L. "Pete" Cahill, 78, of Villa Hills, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 1, 2013. He was a retired golf course superintendent at Summit Hills Country Club. Pete was a former President of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, a member of Summit Hills Country Club, an avid Golfer and a wonderful Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Friend.

Margie I. Hall

 

 

 

Margie I. Hall, 73, of Covington, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood. Margie was a homaker dedicating her life to her children and grandchildren.

 

Margie was preceded in death by her husband Clabe Hall (2008) and son Jack Cooper (1997).

Robert David Grinnan

 

 

R. David Grinnan, 84, of Ludlow, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. He was a retired communication supervisor with CSX Railroad.  Dave was a member of Sts. Boniface and James Church in Ludlow. He was the Past President and Chaplain of the Ludlow Vets, a member of the Kentucky Colonels, and an American Legion member.  Dave loved to spend time at his cottage on Elmer Davis Lake. 


He proudly served our country in the United States Army during World War II.


Survivors include his sons; Rex (Marsha) Hughes of Clermont, FL, Dave (Carolyn) Grinnan, Jr of Ludlow, Mike (Mary) Grinnan of Louisville; brothers, Eddie (Helen) Grinnan of Grafton, WVa, Charles (Bobbi) Grinnan of Elkins, WVa; sisters, Martha Shanabarger of Grafton, WVa and Miriam Delaney of Clarksburg, WVa; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. 


Dave was preceded in death by wife, Frona Grinnan (2005); brothers, Bill Grinnan and John Paul Grinnan.

Guy W. Oehler

 

Guy W. Oehler, 60, of Worthville, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was a Superintendent with Century Construction.  Guy was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Ft.Mitchell.  He was a Kentucky Colonel and loved golf. 

 

Guy proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. 

 

Survivors include his loving wife, Cheryl Oehler of Worthville; sons, Jarrod (Erin) Oehler of Erlanger, Joshua Oehler of Villa Hills; brothers, Gary Oehler of Florence, Jeff (Pam) Oehler of Fairfield, OH, Donald (Kathy) Oehler of Florence; sister, Janet Oehler Caldwell of Ft.Wright; grandson, Luke Oehler of Erlanger; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Patty Miller of Bromley; brother-in-law, Ron Coyle of Edgewood.

Mary Edith Reese Grahl, 93, of Villa Hills, formally of Weisburg, IN and Cincinnati, OH, died Friday, March 8, 2013 at Madona Manor in Villa Hills. She was a homemaker. Mary was a member of Sts. Boniface and James Church, the Rosie Red Club, and a member of VFW AR Post 4501in Batesville, IN. She loved bowling and golf.  

 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Raymond Grahl (2000).

 

Mary is survived by her son, Larry (Donna) Grahl of Western Hills, OH; daughter, Donna Waddell of Ludlow; brothers, Robert Reese of Hamilton, OH, and Eddie Reese of California; grandchildren, Larry Jo Grahl, Sherri Kist, Eric "Scott" Waddell, and Timothy Scott Waddell; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Devon, Adam, Nichole, Alex, Colin, Carson, Alexa, and Caden.

Gerald "Todd" Ballinger, 46, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013. He was a self employed construction contractor.

 

Todd was a member of Epworth Methodist Church in Covington and a great friend to many.

Survivors include his loving parents, Jerry and JoAnn Ballinger of Ft. Wright; sister, Linda (Dan) Acheson of Indianapolis, IN; nephews, Jonathon and Joseph Acheson; niece, Jennifer Acheson and significant other, Anna Hutson.

Larry G. "Eggs" Stratton

 

 

 

Larry G. "Eggs" Stratton, 71, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a retired chemical operator with the Hilton-Davis Company.

 

Larry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

 

Larry was an avid card and pool player. He was a loyal Reds, UK, and University of Notre Dame fan. He also loved coaching girls softball.

 

Larry is survived by his sons, Tim (Stephanie) Stratton of Erlanger, Mark (Tomica) Stratton of Phenix, AL, Billy Stratton of West Covington, Scott (Melissa) Stratton of West Covington; daughter, Pam Felts of Corbin; brothers, Greg Stratton of Covington, John Stratton of Covington; sister, Sandra Marr of Erlanger;12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Michael Volpenhein

 

 

Michael Loree Volpenhein, 67, of Covington, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. She was a waitress for Pompilio’s Restaurant but had worked at Turfway Park for many years.

 

Michael was a member of St. Augustine Church in Covington where she liked to volunteer her time and talents. She was very devoted to her family.

 

Michael was preceded in death by her son, Jody Volpenhein and daughter, Patricia Volpenhein (2004).

 

Survivors include her daughters, Helena Rowland of Covington, Sue Ann Davidson of Covington; daughter-in-law Melissa Coffey of Florida; brother, Ronald E. Willard "Wug" Parrott, 84, of Bromley, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at his residence. He was a retired Operating Engineer of Cranes for Doran Hauling & Rigging.

Willard served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was former President of the Bromley Vets and coached baseball.

Loraine Altevers

 

 

Loraine Altevers, 93, of Covington, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Rosedale Green in Covington. She was a loving wife and devoted mother to 9 children, 22 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren. Loraine dedicated her life to her family. After raising her children she worked in the catering business for Davis Catering. Loraine was a member of Mother of God Church in Covington, Northern Kentucky Senior Citizens, Irish Rovers and many Card Clubs. She was a master scrabble player, a competitive card player, and loved to line dance. Another passion of Loraine's was sewing and crafts, especially her crocheted hangers, and a variety of crafts that she shared with family and friends. Her favorite memory of Christmas was sewing and crafting gifts while her children were in school. Loraine was a very outgoing person who loved meeting people and had many life long friends.

 

Loraine was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert J. Altevers (1978), and daughter Carolyn (1945).

 

Survivors include her sons, Robert J. (Lyla) Altevers, Jr. of San Diego, CA, James (Diane) Altevers of Florence, KY, Donald (Ginger) Altevers of Ft. Mary Anne Lay, 66, of West Covington, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013 at her residence.

 

She was a retired IT specialist for Taft, Stettinius and Hollister Law Firm. Mary Anne was a member of St. Ann Church in Covington. She loved spending time with her family and going to lunch with her high school friends.

 

Survivors include her sons, Bruce (Rhonda) Lay of Burlington, Chris (Sandra) Lay of West Covington, daughters; Tracy (Eric) Stanley of Ludlow, Katherine (Thomas) Garrard of Crescent Springs, brother; James (Betty) Cook of Elsmere; sister-in-law, Judy Cook of Hebron, 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her brother, Wilbert Cook, and sister, Betty Mae Neider.

 

Visitation is Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00PM noon in St. Ann Church 1274 Parkway Avenue, West Covington, KY.

Lillian Parrott, 80, of Bromley, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood.

 

She was a Homemaker. Lillian was voted ‘Best Female Athlete’ in 1951 by Ludlow High School.

 

Survivors include her devoted husband of 61 years, Willard "Wug" Parrott of Bromley; sons, Jim (Katie) Parrott of Ft. Mitchell, Joe Parrott of Ludlow, Willie (Ginny) Parrott of Elsmere; daughters, Barb (Eric) Teaford of Florence, Patti (Mark) Hurst of Brookville, KY, Debbie (Mike) Mowery of New Richmond, OH, Melissa Phillips of Florence; sisters, Pat Murphy of McKenny, KY, Louise Britnell of Florence; 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

 

Lillian was preceded in death by her brothers, George, Chester, and Jimmy Horton; and sister Mary Dolwick.

Ila Bess “Nonny” Murray, 94, of Edgewood, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Elmcroft of Florence, KY.She was a retired Registered Nurse for the American Red Cross.She also worked as a nurse for the VA Hospitals in Cincinnati and Huntington, WV until 1975.

Ila was a member of St. Pius X Church in Edgewood, KY and Catholic Daughters of America.She was a great cook and housekeeper.

Ila waspreceded in death by her husband, John W. Murray (1980); brothers, Charles and Carl Bess and sister, Veda Stern.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Gail (Dr. John) Darpel of Edgewood, KY; son, Geo. William “Bill” (Barbara) Murray of Alexandria, KY; brother, James Bess of Fayetteville, WV; 14 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and1 great-great grandchild.

Robert L. Mahan, 50, of Villa Hills, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. He was retired from Union Ironworkers Local 44 where he was still a member.

 

Robert was a member of Bromley Christian Church and a loving husband and father. He was an avid Fisherman, Outdoors man and Craftsman.

James Plessinger

 

 

James C. Plessinger, 100, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Colonial Heights in Florence. He retired as the owner of the Ludlow Sunoco Filling Station in Ludlow.

 

James was an avid golfer. He was champion of the Northern Kentucky Amateur Golf Tournament for his age group several consecutive years.

 

He is preceded in death by his wife Ardell Hafer Plessinger; brother, Virgil Plessinger, M.D.; sisters, Janette and Elizabeth.

 

Survivors include his son, James (Jill) Plessinger of Richmond, KY; daughters, Nancy Ziegler of Alexandria, Va., Peggy (Don) Young of Ft. Wright, KY; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

 Visitation is Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 1:00PM to the hour of the Memorial Service at 1:30PM, all in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home.
